I can’t do this anymore.
For one year (and 3 months to be precise), I’ve poured my heart and soul into this blog. Countless hours of writing, editing, researching, and sharing and a lot more.
All of that, for what?
A handful of comments? most of which aren’t even on the blog. Oh no, people prefer WhatsApp messages, Facebook posts and DMs, or random texts:
“Loved your latest post!”
“So relatable!”
“You should turn this into a book!”
Great. Fantastic. But could you, I don’t know, maybe leave that comment on the actual blog? 😉
Subscribers? Let’s not even go there. Meanwhile, some “How to Peel a Banana Correctly” video has a million views. A million.
I give away all my content for free – thoughtful, well-crafted, meaningful stories – and yet, it sometimes feels like shouting into the void. It’s exhausting. Maybe it’s time to call it quits. Maybe –
APRIL FOOL’S! 😂😂😂
Oh, come on, you didn’t really think I’d stop, did you? 🤪
The truth is, running Hyphenated Homestead has been one of the very fulfilling things I’ve ever done (recently). My words have reached people in over 50 countries. Strangers have become friends. Readers have shared their stories, their laughter, and their perspectives.
Every message (yes, even the WhatsApp ones) reminds me that my writing matters. And to those who’ve stuck around, subscribed, commented (wherever you chose to do it) – thank you. You make this journey worthwhile.
So no, I’m not walking away. I’m not throwing in the towel. I just wanted to have fun while commemorating April 1st! 🙌
Happy April Fools’ Day!
