The Magic of Acceptance

1–2 minutes

What you resist in yourself persists – acceptance is the true magic.

A person sitting at a desk, writing, with a sunset view seen through large windows. The text overlay reads: 'What you resist in yourself persists - acceptance is the true magic.'
Embracing acceptance: A reminder that what we resist in ourselves persists.

We’ve all had parts of ourselves we wish we could erase—the impatience, self-doubt, constant overthinking.

When Resistance Looks Like Strength
I used to wear my emotional armor proudly. I used to fight those parts like they were enemies to be conquered. Hide the mess, push through, power on. I thought if I just kept resisting the fear or anxiety, it would disappear.

Spoiler alert: it didn’t. In fact, the more I resisted it, the more it echoed.

When Acceptance Walked In
What changed? I stopped treating parts of myself like enemies. I let them speak. I stopped fighting and started listening. That acceptance didn’t make the discomfort disappear—it just made it less scary. That’s where the shift began.

And that, my friends, is where healing begins.

In acceptance, not avoidance. In compassion, not control.

Your Turn
What part of you do you keep shoving aside? Today, write a letter. Not to fix it, but just to understand it. That’s where the healing begins.

This post is part of my April Writing Challenge, where I’m sharing short reflections tied to motivational quotes, life lessons, and small moments that shaped me. 💬 You can read the intro post here.

P.S. – Curious About mPath Services?

These reflections aren’t just musing; they’re the foundation for something new I’m building: mPath Services. Think of it as a heart-centered hub where lived experience meets real support—whether you need help getting unstuck, organizing your digital world, or just want to talk through a transition.

Curious? Let’s chat. The journey is just beginning.

  1. This is a very important step indeed !!
    I remember a sentence I heard recently, ” सकारात्मकतेपेक्षाही स्वीकारात्मकतेने आयुष्यात चांगला फरक पडेल”

    1. Ohh! I like that sentence a lot too. It easier said than done, and thats why having accountability partners (someone who you share things with, someone who keeps you on track when you veer off) is important.

Thanks for your magical reflection. I accept it. 🤭

    1. Yes. Always. One day at a time. Baby steps. Life is a ‘constant change’ and it’s better when we accept it open arms, than to question, reason, resist everything it throws at us. It’s reverse psychology and it works!
